Built in 1924 by Aveling & Porter at their factory in Rochester, Kent. Originally this Compound engined road roller was supplied to New Mills Council. Then after 46 years, in 1970 it was sold by tender to a private owner.
In this picture I've attempted to show her 'back in the day'. Having dropped the living van in a nearby farmers field we see the driver taking 'Earl E Ryzer' out and onto the road heading to the new worksite.
