Product Details

As Centurion became older it became obvious that something should be designed to replace it in Britains Royal Armoured Corps Regiments.

The specification was for a single design combining the firepower of the Conqueror's 120 mm gun with the mobility and general usefulness of the Centurion was seen as the ideal combination.

I am not about to give you all a history lesson about what has become, love it or hate it, an almost legendary tank. I started my Tanking career as a Junior Leader in 1975 for 12 months learning the trades and skills involved with soldiering and The Chieftain tank then joining the 3rd Royal Tank Regiment in 1976 finishing as a commander and Signals Instructor then leaving the army in 1990. You can read more about that, my career, and the Chieftain tank with all its good and bad points and some pretty crazy adventures in my Book 'Armoured Farmer - A Tankie's tale' available on a another page of this shop.

This print is the first picture I drew of Chieftain back in 2006! It shows a 'Chiefy' sat in a 'Battle hide' the crew enjoying a brew hidden behind the trees. This remains one of my most popular prints of Chieftain in A4 format.
