Here we see the Panzer IV - regarded widely as the workhorse of the German 'Panzerwaffe' developed alongside the Panzer III however having a larger turret ring, it was able to take larger armament upgrades and was the most prolific tank Germany produced during the war. So while glory has been steeped on Panther and Tiger Tanks, it was the Panzer IV which underpinned the Army. Its hull was developed into many variants using the same components - anti aircraft vehicle 'Wirbelwind' and the Stug IV tank assault gun to name but two.
